Keeping it Real

I am starting this blog as it's something I've started and stopped for the last three years. It is daunting to put myself out there. I am doing it largely because I find it so terrifying that it has to be good to face my fear.

My last blog was Plainly Polly which I set up in 2015 when I was on maternity leave. I since deleted it and all the posts, so I am starting again! I am in my early 40s, married and have three girls, who are 8, 4 and 2. I work in a family business, along with my sister.

I love makeup. Since the birth of my last daughter, well over two years ago, I spent almost all of my time outside the office in a uniform of black loose yoga pants and black maternity tops with no makeup. Yet I spent so much time, researching makeup, watching videos and tutorials, and far too much time buying makeup. Oh and fake tan.

So, now, I try to take the time to get ready on days I'm not working. Like most women, I definitely feel better when I make the effort and put makeup on, even if nobody but my 2 year old sees me that day! I will review everything, as honestly as I can, that I buy and hopefully this will be a place to chat about other stuff.

So, welcome! And thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts! My wish is for this to be a happy, calm and kind place. I'm not an expert and these thoughts are just my ramblings!
